Love. Serve. Care Medical Mission
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Acts 20:35
On March 16, 2024, an uplifting day of service was held at the St. Martha Sports Complex in Brgy. Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan. It marked the occasion of our biannual Skin Research Foundation Medical Mission - Love, Serve, Care. During this event, we came together to provide free consultations, dermatological surgical procedures, nourishment, and medications to more than 250 individuals in the area this time in partnership with Bocaue Executive Lions Club and Barangay Batia Local Government Unit.
While patients awaited their consults or procedures, a skin care lecture was delivered by Dr. Nicole Mendiola. After registration patients were then directed to their assigned dedicated Dermatologist for their skin, hair and nail concerns. Various skin diseases were catered to including psoriasis, acne, scabies, melasma, and atopic dermatitis. Cases needing surgical treatment such as verruca, molluscum contagiosum, and dermatosis papulosis nigra were also treated accordingly.
It has truly been a humbling experience to hear the stories of our patients and to be able to provide them with the care they need. It's been an honor to receive appreciation from patients for organizing a medical mission in their community, particularly given the rarity of such events in their area. Each year, our department diligently explores avenues to extend our services and expertise to communities most in need.
It's encouraging to know that our efforts are making a meaningful difference. May we always persist in embodying the ethos of #LoveServeCare, enriching lives and nurturing a culture of well-being.
The occasion concluded with a heartfelt lunch and gathering at the beautiful residence of former alumni Dr. Ma. Asuncion Mendoza and Dr. Pedrito Mendoza.
We would also like to thank Dr. Deo Wong, Dr. Sylvia Santos, Dr. Mark Casintahan, Dr. Menchu Liwanag, Dr. Mercedes Beloso, Dr. Patricia Guieb, Dr. Rosario Abaya-Blas, Dr. Melanie Doria-Ruiz, Dr. Maris Abejo, Dr. Paula Edna Gatan, Dr. Ma Luisa Venida, Dr. Patricia Monique L. Torres, Dr. Karen Go, Dr. Elaine Gutierrez, MCB Dermatological Products, Dermskin, Aveeno, Hovid, BCP Dermatological Corporation, Kusum healthcare, iWhite and Galderma Philippines Inc. for generously donating funds and medications for the patients.
