The stars aligned for a dazzling and unforgettable night!
Last December 17, 2024, the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center Department of Dermatology held its annual Graduation, Induction rites and department Christmas party at the Bayleaf Intramuros Hotel with the theme: Celestia.
This evening marked a momentous occasion as the Department celebrated the graduation of its senior residents: Maria Korina A. Dakis, MD, Sharmaine H. Lozano, MD, Sean Neil G. Ligsay, MD, Jonnie Rose Louise R. Wee, MD, Inna Blanca J. Caimol, MD, Kristina R. Jolejole, MD, and Aliza J. Garcia, MD. Throughout their training, these individuals have exhibited remarkable dedication and perseverance, earning the admiration and respect of both their mentors and peers.
The event also celebrated Mary Darice Wong-Ong, MD, DPDS, for completing her Dermatopathology Fellowship, and Mobbydick G. Tana, MD, DPDS, for finishing his Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship. Both fellows showed strong commitment to advancing their expertise and mentoring juniors.
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of Zharlah Gulmatico-Flores, MD, MMPHA, FPDS, a former Training Officer and valued consultant, for her significant contributions to the Department before becoming Chief of Medical Professional Staff at JRRMMC.
Honorary consultants Ma. Luisa A. Venida, MD, FPDS, Elizabeth Amelia V. Tianco, MD, FPDS, Daisy King-Ismael, MD, FPDS, and Lilian Lopez-Villafuerte, MD, FPDS, were also honored for their decades of dedicated service, mentoring trainees, and delivering exceptional patient care.
The evening reflected JRRMMC Dermatology’s tradition of excellence and commitment to honoring its members' achievements. More importantly, it was a celebration of the bonds within the department as we reflected on an incredible year. Consultants, residents, and staff came together for a night of laughter, games, gift-giving, and dancing, creating lasting memories.
