The Skin Research Foundation of the Philippines, Inc., in partnership with the Zonta Club of Muntinlupa and Environs, held its biannual medical mission last March 22, 2025, at the Southville 3 Zone 2 Covered Court in Muntinlupa.
This meaningful event brought together dermatologists, residents, and volunteers with the shared goal of bringing quality dermatologic care to underserved communities. By providing free consultations, surgical procedures, and essential medications, we were able to reach over 300 individuals. The cases we encountered spanned a wide range of dermatologic concerns—including psoriasis, acne, melasma, scabies, atopic dermatitis, and even the early detection of potential skin cancers.
Beyond treatment, we aimed to empower patients with knowledge, offering educational lectures on skin cancer awareness, led by our department chairperson, Dr. Ma. Cricelda Rescober-Valencia, the head of the Skin Research Foundation of the Philippines, Inc, Dr. Ma. Flordeliz Abad-Casintahan, and residents of the department’s dermato-oncology core team.
After registration, each patient was guided to their dedicated dermatologist, who provided personalized care. For those requiring further management, our dermatologic surgery team performed minor surgical procedures for conditions such as acne, verruca, molluscum contagiosum, callus, milia, and dermatosis papulosis nigra—offering not just treatment, but relief and dignity to those in need.
Each year, our department seeks to expand its reach, ensuring that even the most vulnerable populations receive expert dermatologic care. It was humbling to hear the stories of our patients—many of whom have long struggled with untreated skin conditions—and to respond with compassion and medical expertise.
We are deeply grateful for the warm appreciation from the community and for the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the Zonta Club of Muntinlupa and Environs in this mission of service.
To our generous donors and sponsors, including Dr. Deo Wong, Dr. Julie Pabico, Dr. Tet Mendoza, Dr. Deana Dabay, Dr. Mark Casintahan, Dr. Marisel Abejo, Dr. Cathy Balay, Dr. Elisa Rae Coo, Dr. Krisha Montenegro, Dr. Kei Rebolledo, Dr. Joy Sayo-Aguiling, Dr. Gerald Serrano, Dr. Joyce Atacador, Dr. Korina Dakis, Dr. Sean Ligsay, Dr. Lizelle Lira Buenafe, Dr. Janice Ng; and our corporate partners — Qualicare, Glenmark Philippines Inc., Classique Pharma, BCP Dermatological Corp., Neoderm Inc., Vexxa Lifesciences, TMPI-Kenvue, Apogee Laboratories Corp., Galderma Philippines Incorporated, Dmark Multisales Corporation, MCB, Dermatological Products, Creative Skin Medequip, Inc., Folares Pharmaceuticals, Inc, Jaskin, Cosmeceuticals Products, Flourish Dermatology and Aesthetic, thank you for making this mission possible.
